The TonTon Club<\/a><\/strong> is one of our favorite bars in Amsterdam. First, because it’s always lively and full of young people. Second, because in addition to the bar, it also has an arcade area where you can find all kinds of recreational games<\/strong>. To play, just ask the bartender at the counter to exchange your money for tokens. <\/p>\n

They have two locations<\/strong> in Amsterdam: one in the Nieuw West area, near Sloterplas<\/strong>, and another in Westerpark<\/strong>. The latter, which we recommend most, is very centrally located and divided into two areas: a ground floor with tables and an upper floor with all the slot machines. <\/p>\n

Trust us, it’s the perfect thing to do in Amsterdam when it’s raining. However, depending on the day, it can fill up pretty quickly, so it’s best to book through their website<\/a> before you go. <\/p>\n

Try all kinds of food at the Foodhallen<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Dutch cuisine<\/a> isn’t exactly renowned, but if there’s one thing the capital is known for, it’s the international<\/strong> appeal of its inhabitants. That’s why, in Amsterdam, more than just traditional cuisine<\/a>, you can find Mexican restaurants, Argentinian steakhouses, Indian restaurants, and more. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

You can find all of this at Foodhallen<\/a><\/strong>, an indoor market located in the west of Amsterdam where you’ll find food stalls from all over<\/strong> the world<\/strong>, as well as numerous bars and seating areas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Foodhallen is located within De Hallen<\/strong>, a former tram depot converted into a cultural center<\/strong>, which also features a cinema called Filmhallen, a boutique hotel, independent shops and galleries, and a weekly craft market.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Reservations aren’t possible<\/strong> at this market, but it has a very large area with high and low tables, so it’s very difficult to miss out.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On Museumplein<\/strong>, Amsterdam’s Museum Square, you can find the famous Rijksmuseum<\/a><\/strong>, one of Amsterdam’s most iconic buildings and perfect for those who want to learn more about Dutch art.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In this same square is also the Van Gogh Museum<\/a><\/strong>, a classic that never fails to impress. It’s always a good idea to visit, even if you don’t know much about art, because there you’ll also discover the story of Vincent van Gogh, which is sure to move you. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Two other options on Museumplein are the Stedelijk Museum<\/a><\/strong> and the MOCO Museum<\/a><\/strong>, both featuring modern art.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

If you’re looking to get away from the typical museums and see something different, we suggest heading to Noord, the northern part of the city. Here you’ll find the Nxt Museum<\/a><\/strong>, dedicated to new media art<\/em>, where you can see large-scale multi-sensory exhibitions. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The best-known is undoubtedly Episode<\/a><\/strong>. As soon as you walk in, you can see the care they take in selecting their items and that they all undergo a prior quality control check. Here you can find everything from Levi’s jeans to Barbour jackets to Vans sneakers. Plus, they have five locations in the city, so you can always find one nearby. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Near Centraal Station is also Bij Ons Vintage<\/a><\/strong>. Here, the specialty is the 70s and 80s, with plenty of options for both men and women at affordable prices. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Although it’s not a store as such, you can’t miss the IJ-Hallen<\/a><\/strong>, Europe’s largest secondhand market. It only takes place once a month and admission costs \u20ac5, but if you’re there on the day, it’s worth a visit. You can find everything here: furniture, clothing, bags, and much more. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Finally, if you prefer to hunt for bargains yourself, your best option is Rataplan<\/a><\/strong>. There are several locations in Amsterdam, but the best is a three-story store near Westerpark. You can find furniture, books, clothing, shoes, and even kitchen utensils. There’s also a discount section where you can find pants for one or two euros. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
