Canal cruise in Utrecht

Thanks to this canal cruise you will be able to appreciate Utrecht’s most emblematic landmarks from a unique perspective.

Quick details:

Sail the canals of Utrecht by boat

After arriving at the pier, in the heart of the old town of Utrecht, the adventure begins by boarding a boat that will take us to medieval, modern and contemporary Utrecht. The included audio guide reveals all the secrets of the city.

You don’t have to worry about anything, we will take care of everything, up to the smallest detail. If the weather isn’t nice, the boats are glazed and have heating and, on the contrary, if it is a sunny day, we will open the glass roof so you can enjoy the experience to the fullest.

We will start by touring the Oudegracht or Old Canal, which is not only the oldest in Utrecht, but it is also older than the canals in Amsterdam! Along this canal, and for centuries, the wealthiest have built their mansions with the peculiarity of having their warehouses and service entrances just above water level. Undoubtedly, the castle of Oudaen stands out among all the rest: an urban castle that has been preserved despite being more than eight centuries old.

During the walk, winding through canals and bridges, we will also see the Winkel van Sinkel, one of the first department stores in the world with a spectacular façade, or the imposing Utrecht Town Hall, where a plaque reminds us that in 1713 the Treaty of Utrecht was signed here between the main European powers of the moment, without forgetting the omnipresent symbol of the city, the Dom Tower, which we will have the opportunity to photograph from different perspectives.
